Module 1 What is entrepreneurship

1. Introduction

The training material developed for the WIN on-line project will support women who want to become e-entrepreneurs to gain comprehensive knowledge on the entrepreneurship field, in order to become equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to run their business online and become independent entrepreneurs. The training material will guide them on how to gain a competitive advantage in the labour market and promote their innovative business ideas.

For learning purposes, the training material consists of educational and motivational videos and info graphics. Assessment activities are available after the end of each training module, evaluating the information and knowledge the learners gained from the developed material.

2. Learning outcomes

The learners, after successfully completing this module will:

  • Have complete knowledge of what entrepreneurship is;
  • Have complete knowledge of what e-entrepreneurship is;
  • Understand the role of entrepreneurs;
  • Be able to understand what a start-up company is;
  • Be able to define the positive impact of entrepreneurship in the economy society;
  • Gain complete knowledge of the basic principles of entrepreneurship;
  • Be able to analyse different types of entrepreneurship;
  • Be able to use entrepreneurial thinking and practice entrepreneurial skills;
  • Learn about business opportunities and potential challenges in entrepreneurship;
  • Learn about the ethical aspects of entrepreneurship;
  • Gain complete knowledge of the legal framework when starting a business in the partner countries.

The approximate time to go through the Module 1 is

The following would be helpful for making the most of this Module, but they are not obligatory requirements:

  • Basic IT skills.
  • Basic knowledge of entrepreneurship.
